how much are the prices?
The food was tasty enough but the waitress were a bit abrupt and borderline rude. We had to wait at least 40 min for the clay pot rice hitch cone with only 3 pieces of cured meat... overpriced as well
MoreFood arrives at the table cold, which defeats the purpose of freshly wok fried restaurant. The tofu already turned sour. Disappointed they did not care about food quality and freshness, so unlike HongKong. Most of diners are tourists from the China.
MoreWorst staff you'll ever see. They tell a price then after you are seated they say you have to pay 50% more because your have one dish, otherwise you have to order like 3 dishes to 'enjoy' the menu prices that's actually super overpriced
MoreGood service, nice food
Save the spice of the crabs for something else...Cons- Poor staff with terrible and rude attitudes- 10 HKD for initial small serving size peanuts- Not the greatest of prices for it's location- Long waiting time (was thankful enough to bail out of the store without additional charges after attempting for far too long)- Crab was average in terms of taste and small despite ordering the large one- Very informal fee calculation with staff using their raw math skills to add and actually got the calculated the bill incorrectlyPros- English menu- Cheap beer
MoreWe love this place. Will take all of our out of town guests here to experience a delicious part of Hong Kong. Prices aren't too bad either.
MoreNot a bad restaurant. It's in a typical Hong Kong kinda setting and feel, for that description you really need to experience it lol. The hosts were nice enough but nothing out of the ordinary and nothing special. The vegetable bowl I got had an extremely weird chemical taste on the spoon, I removed it immediately and the food didn't taste of it, but essentially there needs to be a much better choice for cutlery without the use of toxic substances. The food was nice average, but I easily find this type of food in Australia in a much nicer environment at a very similar price, I expected cheaper here.... Maybe that's my error, nothing is cheaper here, it's all surprisingly more expensive for much lower quality overall. I'm slightly off topic but I'm sure you catch my drift.
MoreA nice street food restaurant in open air. It looks like a Thai restaurant though prices are Hong Kong prices. Cooking is simple but fresh, the first time I had fried noodles with chicken and the second time fried rice with chicken and prowns. The beer, Japanese one is pretty cheap at 29 HKD. Total price was 95 HKD for food and drinks. People in the restaurant are nice and are used to catering tourists who regularly come to this restaurant which is not the case for nearby restaurants.
MoreNOT recommended save your money and go sonewhere else please. Cons- Poor staff with terrible and rude attitudes- 10 HKD for initial small serving size peanuts- Not the greatest of prices for it's location- Small portion for the price - Very informal fee calculation with staff using their raw math skills to add and actually got the calculated the bill incorrectlyPros- nothing
MoreTerrible Customer Service and Tourist Scam. I ordered the spicy crab only to be given a plateful of spices in an empty crab shell I confronted a few of the workers and they brushed me off as a tourist. I told them it was terrible and there was no meat in this dish, what was I paying for. Stay away... Save your time and money.
MoreThe food is nice, but I think it is not the cheapest option. The menu is in english and has a lot of pictures!
MoreVery nice place to eat.
Authentic ambianceEating spicy crab in Hong Kong
As the name stands , this is where you have to go to get some spicy crabs... delicious sumptuous spicy street food. But it ain't cheap as one would imagine, the pricing of the crabs are a premium but worth it, that is if you're trying for the first time. A different experience and if you love spicy , this is the place you need to be in :-)
MoreWould not feed this to my dog. Rude staff burnt food arrived late
This restaurant is eye catchy as it occupies a corner & 2 units across the streets. Many tourists patronise it due to convenience. Food sucks & is heavily spiced to cover up for the un-freshness. I ordered stirred fried garlic crab but the crab is heavily peppered !! The crab meat stick to the shell, which proves that the crab is no good.👎👎👎. The meat is hard & taste saltish & full of pepper. For HK$200 for a crab, it’s expensive & I would at least expect something more decent. Don’t expect much about the environment of the restaurant. It’s eat fast & get out fast.
MoreClose to obnoxious service. Very basic seating, atmosphere and told to move on from the table where we sat even through few customers were about. Used to have seating on the main street but seems a new city ordinance prevents that now. Proof that the brand as Asia's World City and the real experience can be patchy. Ah well, makes other restaurant experiences relatively more enjoyable.
MoreThe ambience. Locals and expats enjoying beers and seafood even the weather is hot or raining. And in 5 seconds there is this local night market which is convenient though a bit expensive. Some Chinese vendors get rude when don't buy their stuff after asking the price- too impatient. But overall it's a good local feel
MoreIf I could give zero stars I would. Like all the other reviewers said this place is definitely a tourist trap. We were confronted with an obnoxiously large bill at the end of our meal. I am embarrassed to tell you the price of the spicy crab but I will. We paid $800 Hong Kong dollars for one spicy crab which is highway robbery and I should have been able to buy a crate of that elsewhere. they would not listen to us nor did they lower the price. This is the worst place that we've been to in Hong Kong. Stay away. Stay away. Run Forest run!
More干炒牛河 totally disappointed. Only two slice of very small beef and not tasty at all. Prawn still ok, at least its fresh.
MoreOrdinary. The spicy chicken was loaded with enough sodium to kill a small bull. Dishes start from HK$60. Our suggestion: keep waking.
MoreReally good.atreet spicy crab
I love crabs and I know the one I had was fresh, it didn't stick to the shell and the texturr was nice. If you like your food spicy take the spicy crab you won't regret it. 200 hkd for a crab is a bit pricey but it was worth it. We also took some noodles and clams that were fairly good. The meat dish we had more mushrooms than meat. Loved the corn, a bit oily but I didn't care. The staff seems a bit lost when it comes to orders and they are not very polite. I saw one of the staff asking a family to leave because they finished, but there was some space left for new customers.Don't go there if you want to eat in a clean restaurant. The seats are pretty much like any basic asian restaurants, not very comfy.Would I come back there if I come back to Hong Kong? Maybe, but I think I'd try another place for crabs
MoreGood place to taste some seafood. Great ambience and food.
Better go to a decent restaurant to have a decent seafood meal
Great food, bit expensive. But excellent seafood. Don't go for the signiture crab, which is pretty expensive. Get a variety of other seafood dishes. Spicy oil beef pot is great (very spicy). Chat up the abrupt aunty waitresses and they will turn into your best friends.
MoreGreat taste, cozy, original local HK streetfood.
This place is the absolute bomb. So good.
Love the Crab! Great sport to chill and have a beer and meet people from all over the world.
MoreGood food, but waited faaar too long to enjoy any of it properly
Cheapest beer in HK. $28 for 620ml Asahi vs typical $78 for a pint elsewhere. Terrible atmosphere and bright fluorescent lights. But did I mention the beers are cheap?
MoreNo so expensive, good seafood
We found it to be a positive experience. Close view to the markets, sat on plastic chairs, prices were fairly high. Service ok. Menu with pictures, English translation. Tried the mantis scrimp, garlic mussels and roast pigeon. We skipped the crab as it was too expensive. Food was tasty. I don’t regret it.
MoreEnjoy night market
It is a perfect tourist trap at the south end of Temple Street. The service is not overwhelmingly friendly. Food is ok but is low end, even for street food. Everything was very spicy and covers a lot of taste. The crab was 200HK$ and not a bargain, only little flesh. We had to insist several times for a cracker to open the shells.Funny atmosphere, but no recommendation imho - too pricy.
MoreFood's good, bit pricey compared to the other restaurants, but it's right at the entrance of night market, fun to watch people while dining.
MoreVery lively place and crowded with people eating all types of colorful and tasty looking food.
MoreThe fried rice and Fried Kway Teow were tasteless. Seafood dishes were too salty. Sad
MoreExpensive, terrible food, tourist prices and no care for presentationFood was not even hygienic, we love street food but this was just a joke
MoreWorth the trip order the small plate for 2 crabs for 2 people.
Amazing food with a huge variety. If you can handle sitting on small stools it is well worth it. I had the fried spicy pork and my husband had the chicken hotpot. Absolutely aweseome experience and axmust if you're walking down temple street
MoreI love this place.nice combination of food varieties
Food was fine. Don't have to go to the loo, you'll be sent far away and down an ally
MoreGreaat night market.. Very recomended..
Outdoor street dining is so casual and cool. I love to eat and people watch. Had a giant prawn and 2 spicy crabs. Overall, the food was fresh and tasteful. However, very expensive.
MoreEat there and die at home... Incredible dirty place. The "waitress" was picking her nose while taking our order and then she just threw the napkin on the floor. Prices are high as well. Don't make the same mistake we did, read the reviews and run!
MoreGood place for enjoy beer with various chinese food. Not so expensive. One bottle of beer is only HKD22. Enjoy~
MoreBest brisket ever
Great seafood, reasonable price. Eaten here already many times. One of my favorite restaurants!
MoreThe open area atmosphere is great at this time of the year. Ordered a few local dishes and the food were OK. A bit pricy as Temple Street is a tourist spot.
